NICHOLAS TRUSCOTT
ARTIST
Nicholas was born in Bendigo in 1971 and began his art career at an early age in a realistic traditional style in the medium of watercolour.
He received a Bachelor of Fine Art in 1994, from La Trobe University, Bendigo, majoring in painting and drawing. It was at this point his work began to attract acclaim with the University, when they purchased one of his works for their own collection.
Throughout the following years, Nicholas’ style began to change and move in the direction of close up studies of realistic subjects. Nicholas has obtained inspiration through a wider range of subject matters from many different countries abroad.
Nicholas has been awarded numerous prizes for his works in exhibitions, including, first prize for ‘Works on Paper’, Bendigo Art Gallery, first prize at the Otis Foundation Exhibition, Bendigo and more recently, the Bronze Medal at the Camberwell Rotary Art Exhibition.
Nicholas has contributed several articles to the ‘Australian Artist’ magazine and has conducted many workshops through ‘Continuing Adult Education’, Bendigo, teaching students in the watercolour medium.
His works continue to hang in collections throughout Australia and overseas and has had numerous exhibitions. These include:
